The wait is over!
The time has come!

I've been waiting a long time to be able to say this.....

I GOT THE JOB ... That's right ... I GOT THE JOB

(sounds of Hallelujah Chorus can be heard in the background).

This has been a long long process, considering I first heard about this from a friend over two years ago. That's the government for ya...

As of the second week of March I will officially be an employee of the Boulder County Sheriffs Department. I'll be working for a small sub-station in a tiny police department. My office will be in ... get this ... a firehouse (ah shucks huh girls).

As if that isn't enough, it's for more pay and less hours. It's a government job with all the perks and hassles that go along with that. Great bennies, great time off accrual and ... my office is in a firehouse (hehehe).

What more could a girl ask for? (besides winning the lottery so I didn't have to work at all.)

More later...

Dear Lord,

Lord please provide me with strength... strength and patience. Please bless me with your presence today in obvious ways. Let me know you are in control and that all will turn out according to your plan. Lord, give me the strength to turn it over to you. Like the song says, "Jesus take the wheel."

In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

The wait!

Anyone who knows me will confirm for you that I'm not known as a terribly patient person.
It's not one of my strengths...probably never will be.
I'm more of a "instant gratification" type of gal.
So, this week has been a hard one. Waiting...anticipating...anxiously waiting...

Until finally the dreaded day arrived. Friday the 13th. Hell of a day to have so much hinging on it.

But now that it's over, I realize that wasn't the hard part.........

NOW the hard part .... even more waiting.
They tell me Tuesday or Wednesday....
And just to pass the fun around .... I'm making you wait as well.

But it will ALL become clear on Tuesday or Wednesday....

Now to just be patient.

Facebook...my new time sucker

So, why didn't someone tell me about this Facebook thing earlier? What a kick... How fun is it to connect with people you haven't talked with in ages?

Not only am I finding old friends, connecting with relatives I never get the chance to see, keeping up with others I do get to see, but I am also renewing lost relationships with artists who have inspired me through their work and talent for years.

I'll say it again....What a kick!

(However, my blogging time has been .... stolen .... )

25 Random Things You Might Not Know About ME

This is going around Facebook and blogs....Thought I'd join in on the fun.

1. I met my husband in a bowling alley. He proposed to me on the way to a gas station. Are we white trash, or what?

2. I have had well over 150 pieces of artwork published in varying books and magazines.

3. I've been told there is an entire file drawer full of my records at the Boulder Community Hospital Emergency Department. I have yet to verify this fact.

4. My sister and I used to play "Here Come The Brides" in our backyard. I never got to be Candy...and I always wanted to marry Jeremy Bolt. (Bobby Sherman)

5. There is no one in this world I respect more than my mom and my dad.

6. I honestly believe that money wouldn't change me...and by gosh, I want to test that theory.

7. I am truly fearful for the future of our great country. I believe we are headed down a dangerous path.

8. I horde scrapbooking and craft supplies...but I'm still not as bad as Jen.

9. I once spent a holiday season as a professional gift wrapper at JCPenny's.

10. I believe the worst pain you can ever feel is the loss of a child.

11. My favorite breakfast is my mother's biscuits and gravy.

12. I used to come home for lunch in elementary school. I would meet mom and we would watch "General Hospital" together.

13. I secretly don't believe I am a very creative person. I just fake it well. I wish I was as creative as Torrey.

14. Growing up, one of my ambitions was to be in the Olympics. I used to pretend I was in them when I was outside practicing volleyball.

15. I adore green...mostly yellow greens. I think it is one of the best colors and believe I can actually look good wearing it... Don't burst my bubble if that isn't the case.

16. I don't pray as often as I should, but I truly have faith in the power of prayer.

17. I would much rather be cold than hot.

18. We had a large room in our basement. When I was young, we used to move the furniture enough that we could roller-skate down there. Looking back I realize how small the space was, but back then...it was like having my own private rink.

19. I have three friends that no matter how long we go without talking, when we get together it is like we were never apart; we pick right up where we left off. Thanks Diane, Chris and Allison.

20. My first job (besides babysitting) was at a "soda fountain / pizza parlor". I had to wear a red and white stripped uniform...and my boss hit on me. I quite shortly after.

21. I am scared to death of taking a polygraph test. No clue why...I don't have things to hide, but the concept scares the hell out of me.

22. I have been keeping journals since I was 9 years old.

23. The start of it all....between my 6th and 7th grade years I saw my gym teacher at a store during the summer break. She mentioned a volleyball camp and suggested I sign up. The rest is history.

24. I once left my elementary school to walk to 7-11 for lunch. I got caught, of course....nosey neighbors.

25. I love to be alone.... Not for extended long periods of time, but I like to steal any time I can to just be in solitude.

Tagged yet again

Ok... I know I just did a tag. But I liked the concept of this one. So, what the heck.

Instructions for the tag.

1. Go to "My pictures" (or where ever you keep your photos).

2. Go to the 8th folder.

3. Go to the 8th photo.

4. Post that photo...then tell the story that goes with it.

So, here's my 8th photo out of my 8th folder.
I took this photo of my niece, Christine while we were at our family scrapbooking retreat a couple of years ago. We were at the Chocolate Moose Lodge up in the mountains of Colorado around South Park. Here's a few more photo's of that trip. We had such a great time and I can't wait to do it again.

Tags go out to Christine, Shanda, Mom, Jen P, Andrea, and Cheryl.

Girls Day Out

What do you get when you take three grown women, three Cannon Digital Rebels, two beautiful teen girls and one gorgeous, sunny day? In my life, you get over 1,000 photos total.

That was our plan - take these adorable and beautiful girls out, play around with some interesting backgrounds, and just shoot for fun. Between Torrey, Heather and I, the girls were constantly being photographed. In fact, most of the time, they didn't know which way to look.

They were such great sports. I think they had as much fun, if not more than the camera toting group did.

Finish it off w
ith a delightful lunch together and you have the makings of a wonderful day.
